Gun Lake Casino cut the ribbon today unveiling the $76 million expansion to the public. The expansion includes Harvest Buffet, more gaming space, and a new Stage 131 bar.
“We’re thankful to the community, our guests, and over 900 team members, who have supported Gun Lake Casino over the years and have made it what it is today,” said Scott Sprague, chairman for the Gun Lake Tribe.
“We’re pleased to offer a fantastic regional entertainment destination, along with employment opportunities and economic growth for our friends and neighbors here in West Michigan.
Gun Lake Casino originally opened its doors in February of 2011 with 83,000 square feet, which included 1,400 slot machines. The expansion will bring slot machine totals to over 2,000, with an additional 73,000 square feet. In addition to slots, the expansion also houses the 300-seat Harvest Buffet, offering lunch, dinner, and specialty nights, including steak and crab legs.
The addition also boasts a new Stage 131 bar, which will replace the former Stage 131 and is nearly double in size. Stage 131 will continue to play live, local music seven nights a week with no cover charge.
Gun Lake Casino shut down on March 16 as a precaution. When the casino reopens on June 8, fewer slot machines and table games will be running to encourage social distancing. The tribe says “non. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us.

“We’re also thrilled to begin improvements to our current casino, including widening the aisles and improving the ventilation system.” Gun Lake Casino will continue its expansion endeavors, with additional table games, a high-limit room, and another bar planned to open late-summer into early fall.

Gun Lake Casino is a tribal casino located in Wayland, Michigan.
It is located off Exit 61 on US 131, halfway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.
The casino opened in 2011 and is owned and operated by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians. It was initially managed by an affiliate of Las Vegas, Nevada-based Station Casinos and private investors from Michigan. However, the band took control when its management agreement with Station Casinos came to an end in 2018.
Gun Lake Casino features 156,000 square feet of gaming with more than 2,000 slot machines and 47 table games. There’s a high-limit room, a 300-seat buffet, a 225-seat cafe as well as lounges, bars and a popular live entertainment venue.
You must be at least 21 years of age to gamble at Gun Lake.
The Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians is also in the midst of a $100 million property expansion.

The plan is to add 72,000 square feet. That means 450 more slot machines, 12 new table games and a larger nonsmoking area.
The Stage 131 entertainment venue, bar and sportsbook will double in size with more seating, an outdoor patio area and dining service. The remodel will also include two new upscale restaurants. The expansion is projected to open in the summer of 2021.
Gun Lake converted part of its Stage 131 venue into the Stage 131 Sportsbook & Lounge, taking sports bets there beginning in October 2020.
In addition, Gun Lake Casino will be going online with sports betting and online casino soon.
The band has agreed with Pennsylvania’s Parx Casino to launch the sportsbook, along with the sportsbook and casino website and app across Michigan.
Parx Casino and partner GAN have previously launched online gambling and sports betting operations in Pennsylvania and NewJersey.
